The legend of Madam

Treviso, 1942. Many locals still remember the arrival of a young, mysterious raven-haired lady who won over hearts and palates alike.
A woman from far away
She settled into an apartment at Via Risorgimento 12, right in the centre, and began cooking for passers-by. Everyone called her Madam, perhaps for her origins, certainly for her bearing.
Her beauty, her warmth and her sweetness gave that house something extra: it became a place to welcome travellers from every corner of the world.
Among the first to welcome the world
Madam was among the first in Treviso to turn her own home into a refuge for tourists and passing guests. Month after month her business grew, driven by one simple goal: to make all of her guests happy.
Then, one day, Madam disappeared. Without a trace, leaving behind only her belongings and a legend.
The second guesthouse in the history of Treviso
From that legacy Madam Upstairs was born: one of the very first guesthouses in the city, the second in its history. We have given this house back its original calling, hospitality, while keeping its vintage spirit alive.
Today every room is a small tribute to Madam: period furnishings, intense colours and artworks that speak. Because some stories never end, they simply change who tells them.
Authenticity
A real home, not a hotel room.
Memory
Every detail holds a piece of history.
Hospitality
Madam's goal, and still ours today.
